Its been a crazy week. We were in the studio with Ledisi working on her album (she's an INCREDIBLE singer, if you don't know go see her live!). Then, after a long night in the studio I get a call from Matisyahu to meet up back in the studio. We started working on a track and I got a call from Chali 2na who was in town with Ozomatli. Next thing I knew he was ripping a verse on the track and Matis was singing the hook. Stu and Dave from Dub Trio also blessed the track. From nothing to something in 6 hours..... That night Chali and I headed down to the Highline Ballroom for the Roots Jam session where I got a chance to play with the Roots, Bilal and Antibalas. The next night I checked out Ozomatli (they ripped it) and played some before heading back to Highline to sit in with Dumpstaphunk.....I'm obviously getting antsy to play my guitar now that we've been off for a while. After having my fill of sit-ins I'm back in the studio today to record on Neal's record and then rehearse with Chapter 2 for Thursday's gig in NYC. It should be a cool night a lot of great musical friends are in town.....Til next time.
