Soulive Celebrate Brooklyn Video Contest

Calling all filmmakers, videographers, directors and ragers! Bring your video camera to Soulive's free show at Celebrate Brooklyn on Friday, July 31, 2009 for a chance to win a pair of backstage passes, signed Up Here CDs, Vinyl and more. To celebrate Soulive's 10th year anniversary, the trio will be joined by an all-star lineup with guests John Scofield, Christian Scott and Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk.

You can film whatever you want from the night (performance, crowd, pregame, subway ride etc) but videos should not exceed 3 minutes. Simply upload the video to YouTube and email us the link. A winner and runner up will be chosen by a panel of Royal Family judges and announced on August 15.

1st place prize:

-2 backstage passes to a Soulive show (of your choice)

The Rules:

-Video must contain footage from Celebrate Brooklyn show

-Max. 3 minutes long

-You may enter a max of 3 videos

 

How to enter:

-Upload your video to YouTube and send the URL to videos@royalfamilyrecords.com

-All entries must be submitted by Monday, August 10, 2009

Again, I don't wanna be bringin' the negativity - it's still a wicked cool idea, and I'm sure there'll be some sweet submissions. From people who's cameras still work. :-(

I'm just gonna mention that my dog just destroyed my brand new Flip videocam, and that may be some of the source of where I'm coming from, but: with a band like Soulive (and I say this with nothing but the utmost of respect and love for said band), what good is a 3 minute video? I want someone who's camera still works to upload ENTIRE SONGS to youtube!
